Get to Know Renée
When I am not working I love being active outside. I enjoy walking, hiking, backpacking and snow skiing when I can. For the past several years I have been going out on nature solos before each solstice and equinox to prepare for the changes in the season.
I am an artist at heart and enjoy expressing myself through a variety of mediums. I write poetry, make pottery, paint, craft greeting cards, and make jewelry.
I am a life long learner who believes in constant learning and personal growth. I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself and grow.
I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years. How we show up on the mat is how we show up in life and I try to show up consciously and consistently. I am excited to continue yoga training in 2025 towards a 300 hour certificate.
About Adventure Therapy
“Adventure Therapy is the prescriptive use of adventure experiences provided by mental health professionals, often conducted in natural settings, that kinesthetically engage clients on cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels.”
- Gass, M. A., Gillis, H. L., & Russell, K. C. (2020) Adventure Therapy: Theory, research and practice. 2nd Edition. New York, NY: Routledge.
I utilize therapeutic experiential initiatives to engage clients’ minds, bodies, and feelings.
I enjoy working with nature as a co-therapist.
I can incorporate walking, hiking, and backpacking trips into treatment.
I apply this approach with individual, couples, family, and group counseling services.
